Because he was the first to reply. If you post "first" then you win a big fat pile of nothing.

Hey John, thx for the updates...

sloppy for sure last night...Rosy looked bad on the first two and then got the GWG.

Would like to see them swing a deal for Hanzal and a dman as well with Hammer possibly on the shelf for a bit.

Welcome in to the new guy...

As far as the Hawks' momentum, or any loss thereof, as with convincing wins over good teams, losses, or sloppy wins over teams like the Coyotes, you can't get too high or too low in response.

Here's the thing about the game last night. Earlier in the year (and even last year) that game would have either ended up going to OT as the Yotes would have scored late to tie the game. The 'hawks probably would have still won either in OT or the shootout, but last night, the 'hawks played sloppily but still beat the crap out of the yotes. That's what good teams do.

There is a lot to like about the AZ team. They have a lot of talented young players and more really good prospects on the way. They need to add some veteran leadership over the summer. I wonder if they would like Seabs and Kruger for Duclair and a young defenseman. They get more talent a cap and experience hit out of the deal. The Hawks get young cost controlled talent and cap relief. One other financial factor is that there are a massive number of Chicagoan's that retire in AZ. Having Seabs and Kruger might sell some tickets. (and so would winning)

Well for those that wanted to see Seabs and Keith back together you might get your wish.

Good points to ponder Doh but do you really think they'd trade Seebs? I just don't think they'll ever trade him, at least not now. Probably a 70% chance he'll retire a Hawk. One thing you can say about this team is they value loyalty (most of the time, LOL) and he's been a warrior since day one.

Yeah but Seabs didn't do the hawks any favor with his outrageous contract.

There is a lot to dislike about this team too, like how they can get away with cheating the cap by paying players to NEVER play a game for their franchise. Someone needs to ask Bettman about that!

My guess is the sides weren't that far apart Vandy. And he's been a warrior since day one and a #1/#1A d-man the last 5+ years. But I see your point, too. Who knows what goes on behind closed doors. And let's face it, it takes two to tango and the suits could have bargained harder for a lesser amount or contract length.

One great thing about the Hawks and their standing within the Division. They can give hammer all the time he needs to get healthy. They are firmly in the 2nd slot. outside chance at first, but not worth killing themselves for it. And, third is well back.

Actually, I might be wanting to rest hammer, even give Keith a game or two off. It would be nice to give kempny and Forsling some extra time to help them develop and see exactly what you have heading to the playoffs. And at the same time giving Hammer and Duncan some rest before asking a whole lot out of them in the Cup marathon!!!

Of all the bulls*it things I've seen over the years in the sporting world, that's as egregious flaunting of the spirit of the rules I've ever witnessed.

Seabs just signed it.

The Hawks and his agent negotiated it.

Precursor to a trade? Maybe they need the roster/contract spot? In regards to Glass on waivers.

And EK says Hawks are in on Oduya. hmmm

HI JJ,

I was under the impression the glass signing was so that he could be possibly taken in the expansion draft.
